Martha Payne, author of Put Him In, Coach!: A Mother's All-Star Memoir


A mother of four athletes and an avid baseball fan, Martha Payne is a former columnist for Chop Talk, the Atlanta Braves’ magazine, and a former feature writer and assistant editor of Augusta Magazine, city magazine of Augusta, Georgia.  A former English teacher, she holds a BA degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a Morehead Scholar, and an MA, also in English, from Vanderbilt University.  She has served on her local Little League board for seven years and is also a fiction writer.  Her first novel is scheduled for publication in 2008. Payne lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her family.
